Leadership and Creativity

The reason it's hard to be a leader... Hard to create new things... To be a rebel... Is because it's scary.

Not only is leadership lonely--(if you're truly leading you are the only one doing it)--it's frightening.

When we create something new... Everything is groundless... meaning, everything is changing... We are in between a time when old truths are dying and new ones are forming.

When we truly create, we are stuck in a limbo. We don't know if our new truth will be accepted or rejected.

This is why people are managers instead of leaders. Mediocre instead of great. It's easier for people to fit in the status quo. To not disrupt.

But the thing is... If we choose status quo... We are doing a disservice to society and our kids.

The only way to transcend is to be crazy with creativity. To be groundless. To let the old forms and ideas die while we grasp onto new ones so we can climb the ladder of transcendence and spirit.

Too many if us chose the wrong ladder...

We must be rebels.

Ideas came from the Courage to Create and Book One of the Great Books of the Western World.
